E/2 Sprayer Certification

The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and other road controlling authorities require that all bitumen sprayers used on their contracts meet the strict requirements of the E/2 Specification for the Performance of Bitumen Distributors.

Roading New Zealand (formerly the Pavement & Bitumen Contractors’ Association) introduced a form of industry self governance in the late 1980s when, at the request of Transit New Zealand, it undertook responsibility for the certification of sprayers to comply with Transit’s E2 Specification. We maintain a register of all sprayers operated by our members and the status of their certification. To view the current register click here.
