Health & Safety

Roading New Zealand first introduced the practical application of ISG in the health and safety area with the Operate Safe regime. This was in response to amendments made to requirements under the Health & Safety in Employment Act, 2002 and development of the Government’s Workplace Health and Safety Strategy. Operate Safe now has over 100 member organisations and is approved for pre-qualification with the NZ Transport Agency and some local authorities.

Operate Safe is fully administered by Roading New Zealand but has an accreditation board that is independent from contractors.
