Procurement publications
The issue of procurement procedures for roading contracts is one of great interest for contractors as it impacts on their ability to offer value for money solutions to their clients and on their businesses. The Land Transport Management Act requires that NZTA approve one or more procedures that are designed to obtain the best value for money spent. A number of publications provide valuable advice and information on selection of appropriate procedures for projects.
Improving Productivity - the Wanganui Maintenance Alliance
The Wanganui (Maintenance) Alliance is about providing better value for money and improved long term outcomes through a more integrated approach between the public and private sectors in the delivery of network management and the physical maintenance and renewal works.
This presentation, delivered to the 2010 Roading New Zealand Conference, allowed participants an insight into how the Alliance carried out $10.2M of maintenance and physical renewal works from $8.5M. Not only that but the Wanganui Alliance shifted outputs from being 60% reactive to 90% programmed.
