Roading New Zealand is the official channel of communication between the road contracting industry and government, road controlling authorities, consultants and other industry stakeholders. It provides members with the following services.

Industry Leadership & Advocacy

= Proactive identification and management of issues affecting the industry.

= Direct representation to Government, ensuring industry concerns are heard.

= Representation of members' issues and views to all key stakeholders.

Membership Services

= Priority access to news and information.

= Use of Roading New Zealand brand.

= Communication and liaison with other industry members, including the regular electronic publication Street Talk, the bi-monthly Contractor magazine and the Australian Asphalt Review.

= Access to a network of regional contacts; regular regional forums involving clients and stakeholders.

= Development of industry self-regulation in the areas of health and safety, environmental issues and quality.

= Administration of the Operate Safe system, enabling contractors to demonstrate their compliance with the Health & Safety in Employment Act, 2003.

Technical Services

= Promoting research and new techniques for design, construction, manufacture and maintenance activities in the roading sector, including access to international benchmarks and best practice.

= Technical advice on asphalt, bitumen and pavement issues.

= Representing the land transport industry in the setting of national standards and codes of practice.

= Liaison with Transit New Zealand, local authorities and Austroads on all technical issues and specifications.

= In conjunction with InfraTrain New Zealand, continues to review and where necessary update industry training programmes.

= Advice on contractual and procurement issues.

= Advice on health and safety and environment issues
